Sphere: powerful all-rounders

Sphere Servers has been producing server solutions for the past eight years. Our first server, simply called "Sphere", reflected previous experience with the Cobalt Qube. We needed a significant upgrade for our customers and Sphere was the result.

Cobalt pioneered the concept of putting a simple web interface on top of a linux server, making the set up and day to day operation of these systems easy enough for "mere mortals" to do it themselves and not have to call in the rocket scientists!

We went one better - we decided to give this ease-of-use not just to an administrator, but to every user of the system.

With a Sphere server and built-in support contract, you get all the help you'll need, patches and updates to your system, and backup of its configuration etc. on our servers. There are no other licencing costs, no per user or per seat charges at all.

Building on the foundations of our original Sphere server, we now offer a range of modern server products and internet telephony systems for small offices, workgroups, data hosting (cloud solutions), and videographics designers and (post) production teams.

SuperSphere is the latest addition to our range. It's optimised for large, fast storage. Up to 24 storage hard disks, arranged in RAID6 or RAID50 configurations to your specification, together with a RAID mirrored independent operating system disk set up, and we can deliver almost 100T of raw storage capacity. Add in all the other OfficeSphere features, and make the whole system available to other machines via a combination of 2 x 10G ethernet and 2 x 1G network interfaces. Couple SuperSphere with a suitable managed switch, and bonded gigabit connections to a group of workstations and up to 12 processor cores will shift large amounts of data, fast. More than fast enough to share high resolution video assets - straight out of the box. No complex setup, just wire and work.
